Acer have made a statement releasing info about their upcoming 10″ AAO.
Acer, the third largest vendor in the global PC market (source: Gartner data, 1H 2008), today presented an all-new 10” Aspire One netbook, complete with a 10-inch screen, Windows XP and integrated Bluetooth, and designed for a fast, simple and utterly cool online life.

Toshiba have told apcmag.com that the mini note should appear on shelves soon.

In an effort to push out the remaining 900 Eee PC stock to make room for the new Intel Atom-based 901 Eee PC’s, Asus is offering a $100 rebate in the US to help the sales of the original 9″ model, even though it wasn’t that long ago that it was introduced into the marketplace. With the price drop, the Eee PC 900 20G Surf goes for $449 on amazon, the only major retailer that is currently offering discount. Hopefully other retailers and countries will soon follow suit.

At last a retailer is taking pre-orders on the Acer Aspire One. Not only that but they have several different models on offer. Best of all, they have reasonably priced the unit opposed to hiking the price up on initial orders.

The wait is over for the Acer Aspire One as it has finally made an appearance and it’s listed for sale in Taiwan, European availability is starting in 6-10 days according to several e-tailers. Japanese laptop maker Kohjinsha has announced a couple of sub-notebooks capable of giving the Eee a run for their money., The new offerings are Tablet Sub Notebooks running Windows XP Home and come with 80Gb Hard Drives.
The operating system runs on 500MHz AMD Geode LX800 processors, and come with 512MB of 333MHz DDR 2 memory and 80 GB HDD. Continue reading »

Seems that just about anyone inside of Asus is authorized to discuss the Eee PC’s future plans judging by the barrage of information that appears just before any launch. An unnamed “company representative” says that a 3G version of the Eee PC will be launching as early as September in Europe. An alternative to the WiMax version already annouced and demonstrated on Sprint’s Xohm. The prices for the presumed HSDPA/HSUPA enabled netbook will of course vary depending upon contract.
