You spoke and we listened, we have set up a forum for you guys to talk about tips, tweaks, hacks and everything else you want to talk about. We’ve spared no expense and bought a full vBulletin licence opposed to using an inferior forum software but remember though, at the moment it’s a blank canvas so it’s upto you guys to get the ball rolling. If you want sections added, removed or changed then just let us know.
As things progress we will be looking for moderators to keep things running smoothly.
You will find the forum at http://netbookuser.net

After one month, I’m very, very impressed with my Acer Aspire Once netbook XP with 16 GB SSD. I have WinBoard Chess on it, Calc98, and lots of other goodies.
My main gripe is that I can not play music from the SD card in either the supplied Microsoft WMP 9 or my upgrade to WMP 11. After much research I discovered that Microsoft seems to have deliberately disabled this feature in at least WMP 9 and 11. (It does work iperfectly in WMP for the windows mobile PC OS on my HP5915 Travel Companion.) I do not know why Microsoft did this. (Maybe someone does and can tell me.)
Its not a performance issue since WMP 11 can play single songs off an SD card just fine. They just don’t want you to do file management, jukebox view and selection, random playing and playlist functions off the SD card. It may be a marketing or legal issue.
Anyway, that kills WMP for netbooks without hard drives. The reason is that WMP makes you to copy music from the SD card to the internal semiconductor memory. That is very wasteful use of scarce internal memory. Its much better to be able to play from an interchageable SD card itself.
I tried Winamp, but found it unstable on 2 machines. There is a happy ending. I did find a good free product and its working in all my machines as of last night. Its called J River Media Jukebox 12. As I write this I’m listening to music from the Acer Netbook playing from its SD card. Problem solved! J River also has a (not free) higher end upgrade product that competes with the Microsoft Media Center PC. Microsoft needs to watch itself or it will be squeezed on one side by Itunes and the other side by J River. I wish I had insight into their product planning Dept. I did write them, but its just gone into the e-trash I’ll bet.
Anyway, I’m pleased as punch.
Cheers,

Hi friend
I m using Acer Aspire netbooks since last 1 year and I am happy with it’s features. There are host of unique hardware features in Acer laptops and they include Intel Pentium lll 600 MHz Processor 128 MB With RAM. The brand is providing stiff competition to its competitors and enjoying a brand loyalty established by its existing customers with immense success.
