We were lucky enough to get our hands on the new Advent 4211 netbook today so we thought we would share the un-boxing of the unit so you can see for your self.
What the heck is an Advent 4211 netbook we hear you cry, well, to put it plainly it’s a MSI Wind that has been re-badged. We haven’t had the time to give it a full hand’s on review yet but expect one soon.
Last time we looked, the Advent 4211 was available all over the UK at PC World stores for reserve and collect or home delivery. Best of all it’s around £40 / $80 cheaper than the branded MSI Wind.

Looks good. What’s with the tiny battery though?

Only a 2200mAh battery?… you might as well go buy the older asus eee pc 900; its around the same price and I suspect will give you a similar run time away from the mains.

I just opened mine and it’s ace, light and very portable yet it does not feel as if it will float off your knee, could keep it my hand bag save carrying around the extra case.
I was surprised there was no manual included just a sheet with start up instructions.
I almost bought the asus eee last week but am glad I held off for this now.
The battery size is not important to me as I only have need of use in mains locations, but I imagine it may be important to some.
I can highly recommend this pc.

Only discovered this site a few days ago and it looks go so far. Only grumble at the moment is that blog postings on main page don’t have dates on them. How can users tell how new or old the blog item is unless they visit everyday?

Hi Kim,
Thank’s for your feedback.
If you click on the title of each post it will take you to the post’s full page which has the date at the top left hand corner.

So what is it the 3-cell battery in this one? I cant really get any info if it is the 6 cell of the 3-cell. And yeah, there is no small bag to have the computer in? Like the one you get when you buy a Wind?

Hello Roman - Yes we can confirm that it is indeed the 3 cell battery that comes with this unit. When we have fully charged the unit it shows as having just over 2hr’s time remaining.
I can also confirm that there is no case supplied with the Advent 4211 which is a disappointment.
Hope this helps :o)

Thx alot for the fast reply, well now I dont really know what to do. I live in Sweden and we will probably get the Wind as one of the last countries. And since I’m going to London in 2 weeks i could pick this one up, but then again I dont get the bag and the battery is a bit of a disappointment. I just have to sleep on this. Thx again for the reply.

[...] near future but why would you want to wait and even more to the point, why pay more? Remember our unboxing photo-shoot of the Advent 4211? Those that do will know that the 4211 is a MSI Wind with an Advent badge on it, not only that but [...]

Will the Advent 4211 be available in the United States? Can it be shipped to the US?

I doubt it, but the MSI Wind is available over in the US for around the same price as a 4211 is in the UK. They’re both the same machine just different badges :o)
